and vegetables was held in the Public Gardens. A show of

this nature was formerly an annual event, but lack of pub-

lic support caused it to be discontinued some years ago.

The considerable interest shown by the public generally in

its tentative revival augurs well for its future prospect

of again becoming an annual institution. I enclose a copy

of the first annual report of the Hongkong Agricultural

Society that has been formed to secure this.
